Why? Whit and Cuthbert are tied 4th in fWAR at 1.1. Whit has higher offensive, defensive and baserunning numbers than Alex Gordon. Why shouldn't Alex go? He's worse. Whit has been superior to the person he replaced anyway so he's been one of our few upgrades this year.
The first person who needs to go is Alshittys. I can't watch even one AB of his, always FF thru them they're such a waste of time. He's -0.4 WAR which is 25/26 SS in the league. (Shocking there's actually someone worse! His doppelgänger Alexei Ramirez)
Prediction: he's released outright by the Royals this winter. 0.5M buyout, not paying him 6.5 in 2017, with the attendance decline expected. If necessary they'll get some journeyman.
