This is one of those situations where someone is getting paid on the valid expectation of future improvement/performance instead of past deeds. These kinds of deals are never as exciting to fans as signing someone who was a big-time player 5-10 years ago, but absolutely this was a good deal worth the risk and, if Fisher continues to improve, it's a great deal for the team.
I hated Fisher early in his career because he sucked early in his career. That wasn't the case last year. Glad for the guy.
