That wasn't a case of Conley being slower, it was the scheme.

Yeah, they showed that play from the pylon angle and the design was clear; Conley's primary function was a clear out. Smith made a great play drawing the safety to Conley with his eyes. Right at the back of his drop he looks at Conley to freeze/trap the safety and the safety took the bait hard.
First blush showed a simple pitch and catch but Smith did a great job of shifting coverage with his eyes and immediately capitalizing.
