He's not an ace, but suggesting he hasn't had a good year because one statistic - that assigns too much importance to HRs - ranks him 71st of 81 is intellectually empty.

It's a bit misleading in that there are only 81 qualifiers which is a little less than 3 per team, so the sample is limited only to guys good enough to keep getting starts. He very likely is one of the top 90 pitchers in all of MLB, relievers included.
I am simply pointing out that he does walk guys and he gives up a lot of dingers, 2 traits that outweigh the high K totals. I give him credit for being so durable - the broadcast said he's 3rd last five seasons on starts behind only Shields and Scherzer.
