From the beginning of the year they were determined to use Soria in the 8th inning role, even though he came out of the gate like a turd. There is no reason other than "sort by salary" that he ever should have had that job over Herrera.
And then Ned could never admit Soria shouldn't be used in high leverage spots, even when it was clear Strahm/Herrera/Davis would be our best chance to win.
Also Ned putting Davis into the highest leverage situation possible (basically our whole season on the line with a 1-run lead) coming off the DL when Herrera was available - was pretty bad.
His stubbornness may have cost us this season. Although I have a feeling we could have gone into this Cleveland series up 2 in the WC and still be out of the playoffs. They've just had our # all year and are a much better team than us right now. At least it's a lot less painful and nerve-wracking this way.
