1. Meh, I don't buy hunger as an issue.
2. Zo took less money to reunite with Maddon - we didn't have a chance to reup him.
3. Injuries were the primary factor, we lost Cain, Gordo, Moose, Davis, Hoch and Medlen (a starter in our opening day rotation) for extended amounts of the season. We also lost Holland for the year before opening day began, not many would have recovered.
4. Volquez and Young went full Guthrie, Yo regressed, but Ian and Duffy were nice surprises.
5. I'd also add Ned's stubbornness to use Soria in high leverage situations.
