The Tri-Folds are the easiest and most versatile. It 'locks' to the extent that you can't open it if you have the tailgate up and as a hard-top it's not something you can just cut open. I think they're easier and more attractive than the retractable hard covers (I think those are pretty much butt-ugly, honestly).

The 'truxedo' style roll-up covers are the most weatherproof.

I went with the tri-fold and after a recall when they decided that the exterior seals were just too short to work correctly and replaced them with wider flaps, it's been good but not something that keeps things so dry that I'd be comfortable putting photos or electronics back there in the rain. It's fast as hell to open and I like that I can leave just a panel or two open if something is sticking up somewhere.

But if you're looking for the most weatherproof, the truxedo is the way to go. It will come at the cost of some ease and security (as you can just slice right through them) and I don't imagine they'd last as long as the tri-folds.
