Many of them are great, but there are a few that are either too infrequent in their visits or they're too heavy-handed. And that includes many friends.
Keeping some of the good ones like Bwana and replacing some of the others with new mods would be a great thing to do. We've done it before. Hell, we even asked for the input of the community in who should be a mod. We could easily do the same thing now.
And remember when we swore in this current crop how much better things were running? I've got nothing at all against the job any of these mods have done for many years now. It's a thankless and underpaid job, and I'm sure it wears thin on many guys such that they want to take those leaves of absence.

It'd be way too much of a pain to manage it, but conceptually I wonder if term limits would be a good thing. Seems like people (myself included) get burned out after a few years, and it'd be healthy to have new blood from time to time. Something like 4-year term limits, elect 2 new ones every 2 years so that there's always overlap...
