The clip broke on the Garrett Industries holster I use for my 1911 C3. It seemed a bit hardier than the ones that came on cheaper holsters, but it was actually worse. I paid a lot of money for that damn thing. I'm sure they'll send me a replacement for it, but that's not the point. A quality holster should have a metal clip. Period.
And of course I have another Garrett holster for my full size 1911 with the same clip installed. That ****er's a ticking time bomb as well.

I have carried my smaller pistols in the Alien Gear Cloak Mod 3.0 and never had a problem. I'm not a big fan of IWB to begin with, but I do it every now and again.
As for the .45 (I have two). A SIG P220 and a Springfield 1911. I tried ONCE carrying the Springfield IWB and the damned thing felt like an anvil on my hip. Enough of that crap.
For me, it's a Galco OWB or nothing. In the winter I carry a SIG P226 in a Fitzpatrick shoulder rig with a coat. Comfortable as all get out.
