After he passed up the tackle vs. Denver (a play that even the national media noticed) I felt a temporary benching was appropriate (a series or maybe a quarter). But nothing happened.
Then we have the Jets meltdown and a suspension of some sort was the only thing Andy could do.

The narrative and the correct one was that most people were pissed off that our pass rush was awful and our corners were covering for an eternity. From a coverage standpoint, that to me is by far the bigger issue than him loafing in coverage. Considering the circumstances, there was no concern about effort early in the year.
The stuff about tackling, temper, and overreacting after he threw the flag into the stands is a different story and needs to be fixed. And they seemed to blow up after we saw footage of fans heckling him and especially after we blew up on him after the Raiders game. Both fans and Peters need to do better.
