I was here from March of LAST year 2017. I spent 4 months during the dead of summer outside of retail stores and restaurants all around the Valley working for a Tempe based charity raising money for Foster Kids, including days with NO SHADE for 6 hours. I know how hot it gets and I've dealt with the monsoons.
