Regarding the fight itself, it was a great, entertaining fight. Those who were bored probably haven't watched enough MMA to know what they were seeing, which is fine, that would have been me too about 5 years ago.
There's a difference between wrestlers who lay and pray, and don't do much to advance their position, and wrestlers who are constantly working to advance and beat the hell out of their opponent when they get into a dominant position.
The reason why it stalled out a bit early in the fight was because Conor's defensive wrestling was actually not bad at all, Khabib couldn't advance as easily as he usually does because Conor had obviously been working hard to prepare and his ground game isn't quite as bad as we thought. By the 4th round, Conor was too tired to stop Khabib, and that was it.
