When is a good time to fire a coach mid-season? The Browns are, well, the Browns, so they're no guide.
Maybe you wait until Week 14 or 15, but I think you only do that if the locker room is completely out of control and/or if your obvious next head coach is already an assistant. It seems much neater to wait out the season since it's already lost, if you have any choice in the manner.
Elway generally likes to hire and promote his friends from his playing days (which I wholeheartedly support), so that would point toward Bill Musgrave getting a two-tier promotion to interim coach. Not even Elway is that dumb.
So the only other way I would see a mid-season change is if Joseph completely loses control of the locker room. I don't think that's happened yet, but I can see it happening. That would be fun to watch.
