The Chiefs also were going to sell them themselves and keep all the money until Jackson County stepped in and were like "uh, nah, our Stadium, our seats."

Now, I'm not sure who is more responsible for the seats being completely raped by incompetent workers - the Chiefs or Jackson County - but if someone hadn't been an idiot about it I'm guessing a seat would be $100 at most.

Why sell 50,000 seats when you can sell 2500 for the same total?

When the workers supposedly "destroyed" those seats, they drove up demand, hence the price. It takes a lot less work and cost to sell fewer seats.
