Went in and after an overnight stay and spending a chunk of change at Blue Pearl (OP), we left with a game plan of strict kennel rest for 3 weeks. They thought it was something in his back, maybe a disc issue. Dr. said he has seen this kind of thing heal on it's own. We were going to do that before speding nearly $3K for an MRI. Unfortunately, that wasn't the right way to go. Turns out it was an infection. Wish I would have taken him to the local vet hospital in Topeka first. Even though Blue Peal knew there was a slight possibility that it was an infection, they didn't bother to try antibiotics as well. And the Prednisone he prescribed is also known to weaken immune systems.  |
