Have a rant...

No need to apply. It's over the counter in Missouri and everyone is free to join the slaughter. MDC is drooling over CWD right now too, so they are literally slaughtering the whole herd in some areas as well.

The next property over from that funnel is 20 acres. There are three people from three different states all sitting within ~70 yards of each other. To the east of my block there is ~25 acres of trees and 300 acres of bare ground. On my way out there was three vehicles parked on the tree edge with guys sitting within sight of their vehicle. A random side by side drove out across the field and jumped a deer that ran right to one of the stands. The guy in the stand shot at the deer, which was between the stand the the side by side. It didn't appear any glass blew out of the side by side, but he sure spun and left the property quickly. On the way out of the bottoms there was a very nice 4 door truck buried to the frame in a field owned by an absentee land owner who does not allow hunting. He's at least 300 yards off the road and no way in hell anything but a dualled up tractor is getting out there to him. There's only one road out of that place and it goes by my house, if the mother****er knocks on my door it's going to cost him at least a $2,000 tow bill after he calls the landowner in front of me and admits to where his truck is sitting. When I pulled in my drive way there was a guy hiding in the ditch straight across from my mail box. I assume he didn't think I could see a 250lb man dressed in orange hiding in the weeds. I assume he's waiting for the 4 deer that feed on the acorn trees in my side yard every day to cross the road. He drives 4 hours for this experience and when he sit there last year there was at least a dozen cigarette butts, a couple cans, and a doughnut box left by "his tree", which doubles as a ****ing power line pole in the off season. It's basically just a cluster**** of meth heads, flat bills, and a few hunters herding scared animals around until they can find a property that's locked down. If that sounds like fun, come on down, it seems like every tree is for rent at around ~$1,500 for the experience and tags are cheap.

If you're real serious about joining the fun, I have a line on a few farms that are for sale. You can spend all your time running off trespassers and fixing ruts on your half million dollar asset like the rest of the land owners do.

I apply for points in multiple western states for a few species. Really enjoy hunting them with a bow despite the low success. Have even hunted S.D. several times. Even the worst of my unsuccessful Colorado and Wyoming public land hunts rank well above 90% of the rifle season experiences Missouri offers and that includes a unit 62 Colorado hunt which people claim is so over populated locals don't even go there anymore. If I didn't have my block locked down with only me and 2 other neighbors that connects to it I would probably hunt Kansas or Illinois during the MO rifle season.
