Where I live, July 4 does not really get dark. So there are LOTS of fireworks on NYE. We’ve got a good blizzard going on and I’m listening to the fireworks around me.

This NYE, I was surrounded by my family, including my kids and my grandson. I toasted 2020 with a 2005 Taittinger Comtes Blanc de Blanc from my cellar. Quite tasty, although I still have a couple more bottles. I think I will let them age for another few years before cracking another.

Happy New Year’s to CP. In a really twisted way, my fandom of the KC Chiefs can be compared to an abusive relationship. Just like a domestic violence victim, I keep swearing that this year, the Chiefs are different. And I’m glad that I’m not the only one who is in such an abusive relationship but that I’m here with a bunch of others who have suffered for a long time.

But I’m hoping, and hoping reasonably, that this coming decade will involve a championship or two or more and the best QB in the league and so maybe this fandom won’t seem so tortuous and a few decades of pain can be erased. So here’s to the 20-20s. May Mahomes show the rest of the league what a great QB can truly do in the NFL.
