While I can see how the reveal could mean that, I don't think so, for a number of reasons.
Both Giancarlo Esposito and Brendan Wayne have reportedly filmed scenes for season 3.
They left the scene on the bridge between Din and Bo-Katan completely unresolved. Which can be interpreted as the cliffhanger for next season. And that is what I assume the next major story arc involves, the liberation of Mandalore and Din's role in it
The long rumored Boba Fett series has always been reported as a limited series, like the Obi-Wan show. Beyond that I don't know that a full 8 episode run would even be possible with temuera morrison, who seems to have a character appear in nearly every upcoming series.
