We have the lightweight expandable hose for whenever the boyfriend does water changes on the aquarium (125 gallons), watering the garden, or hooking up a water toy for the kiddo outside. Otherwise, we use the heavier, sturdier hose for most jobs outside.
We're on our third expandable hose in three years. The first one we bought didn't last long, but we liked it well enough to give it a second chance. The second one lasted until I didn't see where someone left it laying in the yard whenever I mowed last fall, so we got our third.
