Is there risk? Certainly.
But Veach has talked about wanting to dramatically make over the D-Line, much like he did with the O-Line last off season. Cutting Clark (because obviously) and trading for Hunter would certainly do that. Especially if you could do it without giving up a first.
But between Clarks dead money and a restructured contract (like talked about above) for Hunter, you’d essentially be taking the same cap hit for him that you would have been for Clark this year if he was still with the Chiefs. And the upside is other worldly. Like him and Jones together on the same D-Line could wreck worlds. But the obvious concern is will he stay healthy?
It’s a big dick move and risky but feels like something Veach may explore . . . . . .
