No, it’s not a bad idea. Anyone we pick in the draft may not develop. And even if our draft picks do develop, it make take a year or two be impactful. How many rookie defensive lineman are impactful in their rookie seasons? Production from a rookie dlineman is rare, especially where we pick from. The next two seasons are too important to trust rookies or middle tier free agents (which is what you’re proposing) to come in and make a difference. We invested in thuney last year, big time. And again with brown at LT. We need the same kind of investment in the defensive line this offseason.
