I once took a Greyhound from California to Colorado. There were some unusual circumstances involved and a bus trip turned out to be the best option, or so I thought at the time. I never did that again. On a later trip I got a weekender flight and abandoned the return leg then used Amtrak to get back home. If you simply cannot/will not fly then go by train.
