On one hand, I understand their confidence. They beat the Chiefs twice last year and held the Chiefs to a pair of measly FGs in the second half of each win.
On the other, I think that confidence is not taking into account the Chiefs' upgraded personnel and approach.
The thing the Bengals did in the 2nd half of both of those games is the very thing the Chiefs' new offensive set has been carving up all season.
With Pacheco, the Chiefs have a physical AND speedy option in the backfield now, who can punish light boxes and rip off much larger chunks of yardage.
Increased usage of 12 personnel has also been impactful against those lighter boxes.
And the biggest thing, is that despite being obviously less nasty at WR1, the entire WR group is better, even with Hardman on IR. Even if Toney is out or limited.
