Do you know how much trophies are actually worth? If I offered you a SB trophy or $10m which would you choose? Which feeds you family? ...Listen, I get it... for the love of the game and the glory etc etc etc but that's why you pay an agent. To remind you that taking a discount, anywhere, is a bad idea and you should max out your earnings if possible.

No, offering us $10m or a trophy is not equivalent to Brown's situation. Brown's choices were probably more like $18m per year and a couple of trophies or $24m per year and no trophies.
Most of us would probably take the $18m per and the trophies vs holding out for an additional $6m and no trophies. At the end of the day, how does your standard of living change going from $18m per year to $24m per year? Is there some thing you aren't able to buy or some thing you aren't able to do with "just" $18m per year? No, there isn't.
