Every one wants to "draft and develop" then when it doesn't immediately take off in linear fashion (I think that's the right terminology it's been a while since math) they're done.
Not everyone develops the same due to this reason or that. Some never do. Some take time.
Niang was a good prospect with an injury history. He's had injury issues here so maybe that persists, but you atleast see what you have there before you throw it away.
If they have to go a little cheaper at RT with NIang and it allows them to go get another weapon or another safety or something, do it.
