With the 78th pick of the 2023 NFL draft, the Green Bay Packers are proud to select Sydney Brown, S, Illinois
Green Bay selects a versatile safety to pair with Darnell Savage to help shore up their secondary. I think Sydney Brown can do a little bit of everything, looked very comfortable in 1 on 1's during Senior Bowl week. Had an excellent combine posting the highest athleticism score amongst safeties. Also is one of the heaviest safeties in the class at 211 pounds while posting a 4.47 40 time. Wish he was 2-3 inches taller but I guess sometimes you can't have it all.
