When he got traded, Andy needed a substitute. MVS took over the deep route stuff, but he wasn't any good at the jet-motion stuff, but we had Hardman for that. JuJu was kind of a poorman's Watkins with the short-intermediate routes, except slower, more possession-only.
MVS will serve the exact same role in 2023, Syy probably takes a portion of JuJu's role, Toney takes more of a Hardman role. There'll be some overlap of routes run between Skyy and Toney.
And MVS probably out-performed his contract slightly last season. He ran a more advanced route tree than what he did in GB, and had a better catch rate in KC. If he simply repeats what he did in 2022, he'll have done his job.

I think teams will counter more this year and be more aggressive against us.
They will go back to Mahomes early days and challenge us to beat them over the top or to beat man coverage.
So sitting still is not the best plan and that's why I think Veach/Reid aren't done yet.
