Many moons ago, I was camping with a bunch of friends, floating the Meramec river for the weekend. On Sunday there was a chance for rain, but the forecast didn't really look that bad and the guy getting our canoes and gear said it wasn't going to be anything to worry about. About 10amish, me and 5 friends drop our canoes in the water, just after eating a handful of shroom caps. Beautiful blue sky, perfect temp. About an hour and a half later, we pulled our canoes out of the water to piss and get snacks. At one point, myself and 2 friends were sitting in a canoe on the sand bank, paddling in place and kicking up sand like we were going 40mph, and waving to the other boaters passing us. Having a blast. About an hour later, it started raining. And it just kept raining. We had pulled our canoes off the river to sit under a tree, hoping it would pass, but eventually the water had raised about a foot and was flowing twice as fast. We realized we needed to get our asses downstream to the drop point, or the water was going to get to be too much. We somehow made it about another mile, and found one of the camp staff on the bank waving us to pull our canoes off. At this point everyone in my group is completely tripping balls. It's raining buckets, and thunder and lightning booming. There's empty canoes flying down the river from other boaters, along with coolers, chairs, etc. The camp staffer loads us into a short bus, and we go driving along the river, stopping every mile or so to look for other people that dumped their boats and were stranded. The short bus had picked up about 15 people by the end. At one point we picked up a younger couple, and the only thing the poor girl had left was her bikini bottoms. For me, all the adrenaline really brought me back down to a manageable level, but one of my buddies was so tripped out he couldn't even speak straight, just smiling like a dumbass all wide eyed. What should have been a really relaxing good time turned into trippy disaster.
Don't take shrooms in an uncontrolled environment...
