Yep.
Meth is more ubiquitous than it was 20 years ago. It's also a lot less popular here than it used to be, due to opioids.
But back in the day, southern Iowa and northern MO were the meth capitals of the US. It was being made there and shipped all over the midwest.
All I can draw from his comment is that he didn't grow up in the upper midwest because literally everybody around me was doing meth in the 90's. I did it with bank managers and unemployed losers alike.
