It’s not dumb, it’s legit. Not saying he’s garbage when he’s within a deal, but the difference in contract years is noticeable.
Then again, it could also be the influence of Cullen who has been a godsend, on top of Spags finally having all the pieces he needs and Chris just peaking.
The main point is it’s highly unlikely he’ll live up to the massive deal he will get (and deserves). That seems to be the way the Chiefs are approaching it, whether that’s fair or not. I love the guy and if they pay him 30 million a year I won’t complain and quite frankly would be thrilled. I just see the writing on the wall and understand their logic.
