I'm sure players look for consistency first and foremost, so I completely get that... if there are pretty much always warnings, it's not something that's ever called, etc; I get their point.
The opposite seems to happen a lot when they let shit go all game and then flags come out in force in the 4th quarter.
That said, I don't really know how Toney didn't realize he was in the neutral zone, given he lined up inside and is that much closer to the ball... it seemed pretty damn obvious and warnings or not, it is still his job and not the refs.
