His standup stuff was great, but Raw, while still funny, was a definite step down from Delirious. The main reason was by the time of Raw, he was a massively successful and wealthy superstar, and as such had lost touch with the reality of everyday life for those of us who aren't massively successful and wealthy superstars. When his content shifted from funny stories about everyday life to the problems of the super rich, it became far less relatable, interesting and funny. We can relate to stories about family members doing stupid shit at family functions. We really can't relate to Eddie feeling that he needs to marry some "African bush bitch" and keep her hidden away from greedy American women so she won't be talked into taking half his shit, when the remaining half of his shit is far more than most of us will accumulate in a lifetime. Was it still funny? Sure. I WANT HALF, EDDIE! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY, EDDIE!

But what comes after that? Bitching about waiting too long to board a private jet? Tipping the help too much? The valet forgot to pack his socks? Hiding from the little people pestering him for autographs? I think it was probably smart on his part to stop doing standup, and I've seen an interview he gave where he basically acknowledges this.
As for Beverly Hills Cop IV, all I can say is that there was a Beverly Hills Cop III that was absolutely ghastly. I remember turning it off after about 20 minutes.
