And that's why I really hope we don't start slow, which we seem to have a habit of doing in SBs (how weird is it that the sample size over the last 5 years is now big enough to discuss 'habits'?).
I Shanahan has a 4th quarter lead this time, or even a 2nd half lead, he's taking the air out of the football. He's not going to give Mahomes time to beat him like he did last time. Or against Brady.
He'll do everything in his power to shorten the 2nd half to 3 or 4 possessions and lead on our perceived (and likely legit) weaknesses in our run defense.
We CANNOT bank on Shanahan going Shanahan this time around. We've gotta stay up/even with the 49ers to pressure him into making a mistake. He's not going to commit an unforced error this time around, IMO.
