Since you used it as a qualifier, I figured you had some way of knowing if it was OK to watch pornographic material. After all you said it's a problem if they are exploited in some way...but if it's not up to the viewer to know, then does it really matter if they are exploited? Does the user just assume it's all good and spank away?

And I agree on the buying of clothes, and that's a discussion to have as well. One thing at a time, I'm talking about pornography.

Fair enough, I guess you must have an idea for yourself what constitutes excess and what is moderation. At some point though, it seems there would be an objective standard to kind of base that off of.
So I'll pushback a little.

First a preface, 15 seconds of googling, there is some horrible shit that goes on in the porn industry. **** that.

The bad stuff is never OK. But that aside, if it's just a transaction, payment for performance, is that different than any other performance? Is Mahomes being exploited so we can get our sports rocks off? What about a movie star? There are what like 3 ugly female actresses that can work? Are the rest of them being exploited for their looks? If not where is the line? Cheerleaders? Conga dancers? Hula dancers? Strippers are almost certainly over the line.

I legitimately don't know.

Anything anybody does for money can be at some level construed as exploitation. Even us. Are you exploited for money? If you have to do some bullshit you don't want to do, are you being exploited? What about taxes. Every March I FEEL exploited.

Same with "unhealthy". I work in (I think it's been awhile since I looked) the 3rd most dangerous industry. Should all farmers stop because it's unhealthy? Seems unreasonable. If you're an office guy, sitting in an office chair all day is remarkably unhealthy. If you're a sales guy and you have a jackass customer, that's unhealthy for sure. Should salesman and accountants be banned?

I don't know the answers and I'm far from qualified to even discuss any of it. But I don't think, necessarily that porn is bad for all performers - I'm, betting there are some healthy ones out there. Obviously there are some problems for a lot of them.

On the whole I agree porn probably isn't great for anybody involved. But I have trouble saying anything is all bad. Almost exclusively there is nuance and gray area. Certainly not a hill I'm wanting to die on, but philosophically, I'm opposed to telling people they can't do shit.
