Because with the money we found by pushing that deal out, we were able to get guys who were instrumental in that trophy.
This is such a disingenuous way to look at things.
No, I will never regret the deal we gave him. Because he was a monster in the playoffs when we needed him and he signed a contract that allowed us to bring in good players to supplement the defense.

I don't like either set of numbers (2 for $25 next two or 3 for $30) to be honest. It's not so much a Taylor issues specifically as it is what we are paying Taylor for consistent to his value.
But I can acknowledge what we ultimately ended up paying him this year (via cap hit), we did not get cheated. Whether we get 'cheated' the next 2 years, remains to be seen.
I didn't like the deal at the time and I don't feel any better about it now, but believe me I hope he proves me wrong going forward.
And yes, I realize he played well in the playoffs. But as I stated above, so did MVS and no one was clamoring for him to stay. We wanted him to go because he could. The bottom line is we are 'stuck with' Taylor for at least the next 2 years.
I genuinely hope he balls out these next 2 years and proves me wrong.
