Here is yet another angle that destroys your conclusion: The improper private salary deferment agreements were done without notice to the Union or the League. So then, if the League didn't know, then how the hell were the resultant lower salaries made part of their calculations of Denver's salary cap such that we had more room to sign players? Either they knew we'd lowered those players current year salaries or they didn't, which is it?

You were already told that the League office DIDN'T do what you were suggesting (specifically - The League's position is they check EVERY roster EVERY week. If there's a problem with the cap they inform the team and the team has to make a change in their roster before they take the field.), and when the Donks got publicly exposed for cheating & violating the salary cap later on, they had to scramble to save face. What part of that didn't you get?
