I showed the shirt photo to my wife who, against my wishes, regularly pays for clothing with holes. Her professional opinion is that Bill's shirt hole is an intentional design element. She said something about decorative fraying.
I think we can safely conclude that the girlfriend is dressing Bill. At some point we'll undoubtedly be seeing elder abuse charges and lawsuits.
