If your character is going to be cocky and/or annoying then they’d better be charming (Kilmer’s Doc Holiday) or hyper competent (RDJ’s Iron Man).

Right. I have no issues with anything politically in this show. Pedro Pascal may not be a "red blooded" American but he looks a bit like the character from the game and he did a great job. I just don't get it with the Ellie character. I thought she was pretty good in a supporting role last year but this season it's just not there. She just isn't a very likeable character. I think she was significantly miscast.
