I still don’t like it. Sports betting and the integrity games couldn’t be any more important. I don’t have an issue with drawing a clear line that betting on games is absolutely forbidden. It is the one cardinal sin.
And throwing games is another thing. And both rose and shoeless joe did just that. Pete did it by intentionally not betting certain games. Shoeless Joe did it despite people confusing his stat padding performance during meaningless innings while he was suspiciously horrific in innings that did.
I agree on bonds and company. Cheating to win is way better than cheating to lose. Especially when there’s so much gray area around that. But before you do any of that, let curt schilling in, because not liking a guy because of his opinions is a disgraceful reason not to induct someone.
