Try to keep up. Get at least a basic knowledge how it will affect your employment. Play around with because it's actually very interesting.

I am working on a task force to introduce process automation via AI. Many of the functions I will be automating are functions I currently do manually today. If I don't find ways to automate these tasks, someone else will and I will be out of a job.
I cannot agree more with you that people need to start playing around with this and actually learning how to use it.
