The Beatles sang of love; the Stones of lust; the Beatles followed Brian Wilson's lead in production and offered SGT Pepper; the Stones suffered casualties at Altamont. The Beatles' chords, arrangements and musical depth far exceeds the simple rock'n'roll and blues patters of the Stones. George Martin's influence catipulted the Beatles well above the Stones and Andrew Loog Oldham.
Finally, the Beatles will be remebered for love, energy, creativity and transparency; the Stones for skepticism, scoffing, anger and criticism.
