I think I got you beat...
The Thursday before Martin Luther Kings BD...
We've been hearing that VP of operations in Ohio was coming to my job in Indiana for a visit. We didn't expect nothing. When they got there. They did a little looking around then had a meeting with all the Sups and Managers. Then our Manager told all of us to log out of the phones and go to the meeting room.
They waited until everyone was in there and then hit us with it.
We're moving all of operations for the Lafayette branch to our Ohio branch. Our jaw hit the floor. We asked
"When"?
"Immediately"!
"You have 15 minutes to clear out your offices and as of now all calls are being routed to our offices".
Right then and there... I saw how some people end up going postal.
AS a result I had to move to Kansas City because of shortage of I/T jobs in the Lafayette area. I just started working for HRBlock last Monday until I get on my feet.
Of course bills keep coming up and my first paycheck isn't until Feb 9th. I have some saved for a rainy day (and this is it) but it's, basically down to which bills have priority. So in less than a weeks time I got laid off (thursday), got a HR Blcok Seasonal (technical support) job(Friday) registered for my 3 networking classes and not too mention had to buy $200 worth of books.
Now I'm back home and currently looking for perm. employment within my current I/T field.
Just think:
I was out of town and lost my job with no-where to run. So as a result I'm in K.C. and can kick it with you fellow BB members now.
Hoping this sheds some light on your situation... It couldbe MUCH worse. Keep your head up!
