Logical,
To find out where the picture is being retrieved from, just right click on the picture and select properties. Next to Address(URL) it shows the URL that the picture is being fetched from.
OK, and as for how it doesn't take bandwith. When you goto chiefsplanet.com, it takes bandwith to transfer all of the HTML. This is then stored in your computer's cache. The browser uses this HTML to display the tables, text, etc. on your screen. Lastly, it retrieves the images, the ones that are from the ChiefsPlanet server, such as the smilies and Chiefs Logo at the top are downloaded from the ChiefsPlanet server to your hard drive and use bandwith. The rest of the stuff that's from other servers is downloaded from those servers, so the ChiefsPlanet server isn't involoved in the transferring or viewing of these images, wheter they are animated or not.
