You're right, because it really isn't a big deal to anybody except for Tom. "No commenting" makes it seem as though we've something to hide.

Tom got busted with the stupidity on ChiefsPlanet about the same time he got called up to active duty. He voluntarily submitted his resignation to me and the rest of the board via email, citing time/committment concerns due to his call to active duty. Then when we failed to update the website to reflect his departure he threw a fit and threatened legal action. So, we removed his name from the website - entirely. Then he started bitching because he wanted to be known as a co-founder. Then he started bitching because he was back home in Kansas and wanted re-instated to the board because his resignation was actually just a leave of absence. You get the idea. Anyway, our by-laws call for new execs to be nominated. Tom wasn't nominated. All the decisions regarding Tom were put to a vote. None have gone in Tom's favor. I'm not out to get Tom, but don't tell him that.

His side of the story says a bunch of stupidity about being "forced" out. If a voluntary resignation is "forced out", I guess that's what happened. That is the pared down version of the story - there's actually several hundred emails from Tom on the subject over the years.
