I agree with phisherman on WSP. Some of my good friends are huge spreadheads. Hang with the band, go backstage, get invited to their birthday parties, etc. I've seen them probably ten times, but I've never really liked them that much live. As for Hauser's guitar playing, it's blasphemy since the poor guy is dead, but I never really much cared for it. That single "whirlwind" effect that he used never did it for me. George, on the other hand, I really like. I haven't heard him much with WSP, but I loved him in Beanland, a small band that he and JoJo used to play with out of Oxford, MS.

Wakarusa: That is a sick freaking lineup. I'm really impressed with the way they've branched out from the whole jamband scene. Wilco, Son Volt, Junior Brown, Neko Case, Ozomatli, Calexico, etc. Not to mention more jambands than you can shake a spliff at.

If you decide to check out the stage in the campgronds, be sure to check out Eckobase. They're good friends of mine from Fayetteville that are playing. Really cool guys.

We've already had this discussion before, regarding WSP.

But, I agree- that Wakarusa line-up is outstanding. I'm afraid if I go, I'll never get any sleep for three days 'cause I'll want to watch every single band.
