From other sources I read, the Chiefs were high on Thomas Davis. However, they never budgeted in the fact that Derrick Johnson would slipt that far. Most draft board had him in the top 10, and some had him going in the top 5. Peterson wasn't trading out of that pick when DJ fell that far.
