Well this explains it, it's done by the Sporting News. Most of their writers aren't very bright, I've noticed over the years. When they rate players they rate on things like "this guy is younger so he's better" and throw in salaries and "big name".
Their rankings are extremely skewed for the most part. Bryant Mckinnie has never developed at LT like people thought he would yet he's getting ranked this high? That ranking is more on potential than production.
