All his teams have been like this.
82 - His White Sox won game 1 over Baltimore. Then got outscored 18-1 over next three games to lose ALCS 3-1.
88 - Favored A's flamed out in World Series behind Kirk Gibson's famous homer, lost series 4-1
89 - A's actually won the World Series, but that took an act of God (earthquake)
90 - A's were heavily, heavily, heavily favored over the Reds, and the Reds swept them
96 - Had the Cards up 3-1 over defending champion Braves in the NLCS, team totally flamed out and lost 4-3.
00 - Flamed out in NLCS against Mets, with stud pitcher Rick Ankiel totally losing his ability to pitch.
02 - Lost NLCS to Giants 4-1.
04 - Swept, dominated in World Series by Red Sox
05 - Won game 1 of NLCS, then pretty much overmatched rest of series, save the 9th inning of game 5.
