I picked this up today, I liked the movie, and the game seems to stick pretty close to what made its characters so popular.

Its not just a rehash of the movie though. When you start playing, they take you to 90 days prior to the events of the Warriors being framed for killing Cyrus, and their running of the gauntlet to get back to Coney Island.


The gameplay is pretty good, although there are times where it turns into a real clusterfu*k sometimes when you have a bunch of guys against a bunch of enemies. Your own gang will end up hitting you, you will hit your own gang, and your gang will throw guys into you and knock you down.

They also tend to interfere when youve got a guy pretty much handled, due to the team moves in the game. You may not want to do a double team move at the time, but sometimes your own guys will get in there and interrupt one of your holds with just a weak punch or kick, when you were setting up for a power move, so that can be frustrating.


It doesnt happen all the time though, and there are some damn cool combinations you can pull off.


A cop was chasing me down after a mugging I put on some little rich boy who was hanging around the wrong part of town. I turned around, gave the cop two shots to the jaw and a kick in the stomach. As he was stunned I grabbed him, delivered two brutal knee shots into his face and slung him into a barrel filled with burning trash that a couple bums were using to keep warm. He hit the barrel, along with the two bums, and the contents of the barrel ignited them all causing them to all run and crawl around screaming in agony.

The cop, barely alive at this point staggered back to his feet just in time for me to grab hold of him and brutally smash his face into alley wall. He dropped in a heap for the final time, and after delivering a couple stomps to his face for good measure, I went on about my business of ransacking jewelry stores and boosting car stereos.


This game is pretty cool, especially if youre a fan of the movie. Its worth a rental at the very least.
