I'm quite certain they weren't unintentional. The guy that invented Wonder Woman is now known to have had a big S&M fetish. He even had a live in girlfriend (along with a wife and kids) who was photogrpahed a few times wearing metal 'bracelets' on her wrists. Somebody gave my son a DVD of old cartoons - Superman, Popeye, etc. from the golden age of animation. There's a scene in one of the Superman cartoons where Lois Lane is being tied to a pole for the firing squad by some Japanese soldiers. For some reason they decided to pan to her ankles while she's marched to the pole, and when she turns around the enemy soldiers sword scabbard is pointing right between her legs and looks like just what you might imagine. I couldn't believe it at first and rewinded it just to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me.
